Round 17 Football Review - Hatherleigh Sports & Recreation

Versus Nangwarry

?We traveled to Nangwarry last weekend and all of our football teams had strong wins against the Saints.

?The Under 11?s kicked the day off bright and early and while we had to lend a few our boys to the Saints to make up the teams, we still had a really good game, with plenty of skill and endeavor on show. It was the last game for several of our boys, who will move up to Junior Colts next season. These boys ? Max Telfer, Loius Brown, Riley Chester, Spencer Jones, Doug Treloar, Jacob Lang and Will Chay ? have played great footy this year and really looked after the little guys on the team. The future of the Eagles looks great with these boys coming through the ranks! That was our last game of U11s for the year, so I would like to thank all the parents who have helped goal umpire, time and cheer us on!

?The Junior Colts beat the Saints by 24 points, with Mitch Pulmer and Alex Buhlmann kicking two goals each and Harry Coote, Jack Gray and Alex Spher each scoring one goal. Awards: Lachie Lang (President?s), Alex Buhlmann (Pete Walters), Jack Gray (G. Nilsson), (HFC Ladies Committee) and Harry Coote (HSRC Steak).

?The Senior Colts also won easily, thrashing Nangwarry by 74 points. Jed Telfer booted four goals and Joseph Brooks, Sam Telfer, Sam Sutherland, Fergus Slape, Tom Jackman-Tilley, Mitch Pulmer and Tom Chant each kicked one goal. Awards: Angus Altschwager (Seebohm?s Sportspower), Fergus Slape (C. Gilbertson), Ben Leopold (G. Nilsson), Joseph Brooks (HFC Ladies Committee) and Lewis Walker (HSRC Steak).

In their second to last game of the year, the Reserves let Nangwarry kick the first three goals, but once we started playing like we should, we came away with an easy win. Dan Sutherland helped us out after playing senior colts and was named best on ground. Matt Bowman played well?at centre half back and Brownie kicked six goals and has now won the league goal-kicking award. Awards: Daniel Sutherland (K&S Ampol), Matt Bowman (Dave Reilly?s Panel & Paint), Shane Lambert (Beachport Hotel), and Josh Clarke (Prince of Wales Hotel).

If we play to our potential against Port MacDonnell we will hopefully finish the year with a win. Thank you to our sponsors and supporters for your help throughout the year.

Like the Reserves, the A Grade started off slowly against the Saints and let them get the first few goals on the board. We soon sorted ourselves out though and ended up winning easily by 86 points. Brett Sneath and Jack Skeer both had a great day in front of goals, each kicking five, while Tylah Saunders kicked four goals.??Awards: Todd Watson (Millicent Golf), Mat Faulkner (Somerset Hotel), Tylah Saunders (Beachport Hotel) and Cameron Slape (Prince of Wales Hotel).
