Nectar Coffee Shop, a favorite pit stop for Mayor Bloomberg near his upper East Side home, sports a less-than-stellar ?B? rating.

EVEN MAYOR Bloomberg?s favorite java joint doesn?t get any special perks when it comes to restaurant inspections.

The upper East Side?s Nectar Coffee Shop has served the mayor his morning joe for the past decade, but city Health Department inspectors gave it a B grade two months ago.

Nectar?s manager, Steve Georgalis, said the store received the demotion from an A grade because of a bad egg.

?When the inspector comes, it was during breakfast,? Georgalis, 36, told the Daily News on Sunday. ?Everyone is running around, back and forth. I got a ticket for having a cracked egg in the refrigerator.?

Inspectors also found the restaurant didn?t clean a section of countertop and that the milk shake machine was dirty, he said.

The manager tried to appeal the grade with the Health Department, but the B stuck.

Neither he nor Nectar?s owner have talked to Bloomberg about the grade. If he did, Georgalis would say the city inspectors are nit-picking.

?You can?t keep cleaning everything every second,? he said. ?No matter what, they will find something.?

Georgalis said inspectors need to ?ease up? and that they?ve been bad for business.

?Small businesses, that?s what makes New York,? he said.

Bloomberg recently spoke about the coffee shop?s inspection while promoting his popular restaurant letter grades.

At the time, the mayor said he wasn?t sure why Nectar got a ?B? but planned to ask.

Georgalis said each morning Bloomberg orders a coffee with milk and no sugar. He likes a little room in his cup so he can drink it in his car without spilling.

The mayor used to stay for ?scrambled eggs, white toast with butter and salt on the toast,? Georgalis said.

But Bloomberg?s tastes have changed as he has pushed New Yorkers to eat less sodium.

He now takes his morning meal across the street at the chi-chi diner Viand.

?He has egg whites, toast well-done, cantaloupe,? said the mayor?s regular waitress, Roxanna Coya. ?He says it?s the best cantaloupe in New York.?
